Residents
The Lower Cape Fear is a beautiful place. It is a magnet for people who come to paddle, hike, camp, and watch nature. The river also supplies drinking water to citizens and supports local businesses.
Whatever your connection to the river may be, as someone who uses its resources, you are directly affected by complications that impact water quality, natural habitat, and fish health.
To avoid these complications, establishing a healthy, long-term relationship between the Cape Fear and the communities that depend on it will allow people to benefit from the services it provides without degrading the river in the process because no one wants to drink contaminated water or go for a swim in green, slimy algal blooms.
